REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MMET) OR Mechanical Engineering OR 1-3 years directly-related experience.



SUMMARY
 

Manage the set up, develop and conduct variety of tests on the products manufactured by the plant in order to insure that our products meet or exceed the requirement they have been designed for.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 


Manages / Organizes DVP and R.

Performing functional testing and certification on prototypes and in-process assembly's.

Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions for functional prototype and in-process failures.

Collects and publishes customers test results.

Organizes and produces written validation justification reports.

Set up and run test equipment/benches to support validation as needed.

Ability to read blue prints.

Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.

Tests functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions.

Insure that test equipment is operational and maintained properly

Reads/sets up electronic equipment ( oscilloscopes , load cells , LVDT, displays)  that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.

Compares results with specifications and records test data or plots test results on graph.

Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.

Confers with engineer, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.

Devises test equipment setup and test methods to evaluate performance an operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.

Language Skills:  Basic language skills required

 

Mathematical Skills:  Math skills required

 

Reasoning Ability:  Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature. 

 

Computer Skills:  

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and affiliated software packages.

Strong knowledge of Excel recommended.

Knowledge of LabView , Mathlab or equivalent software recommended

Individual must possess the capability to function within the Fourth Shift database application on a daily basis

Other Skills and Abilities:  Individual must possess the interpersonal skills communicate with coworkers.

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment: The ability to work in an office environment, which could include sitting or standing for the majority of the day.  Responsibilities include the need to lift, carry, push, and pull material on an infrequent basis.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
